What do you get on our LOTR tour?
Location Access. Place yourself in the footsteps of the actors and access the private farm land where filming took place. (This is private land with no public access unless on our tour.)
Highly recommended. This is only one of a handful of location tours recommended in The Lord of the Rings Location guidebooks by Ian Brodie.
Genuine replica LOTR items. Feel like an actor in LOTR by handling official LOTR swords, helmets, flags and masks. Bring your camera or video for amazing and unique photos or video. You also have the option of re-enacting scenes like ‘the charge of the Rohirrim’ or ‘to kill off the Witch King’!
A specially built Film Road. Experience the speed of the Rohirrim charge as we drive down the main film road. This is the only location in the South Island where this is possible as most items built by the film crew in New Zealand had to be dismantled after filming and the land returned to its original condition.
Stunning scenery. We have 360 degree views over the Pelennor Battlefield and the White Mountains with awesome photo opportunities. Your guide will help you get the best photos so you can go home, watch the LOTR DVD and compare your photos to scenes in the movie.
Personal Service. The tours are limited to 9 people (please email us for larger group bookings so you will feel a part of the experience and are able to ask your guide questions.
Not just for LOTR fans. This trip is enjoyable even if you haven’t read the books or seen the movie. You will learn about techniques used to film key scenes and discover out what is real or computer generated, you might be surprised!
